Talking Games in New York, Paris, and Köln
Posted in Flash by theFlashBlog on the 03-16-2011
In a couple of weeks I will be leaving on a trip to talk about Flash gaming. The session I will be giving is entitled Don’t Hate the Player. Wow what an unbelievably witty title. This session will give an overview of the gaming industry and then focus on the current and future states of Flash gaming. But I’m also hoping to gather a lot of feedback from developers who are creating games with Flash as we currently planning our future gaming initiatives. Now on to the specifics.
My good friend John Davey has put together an amazing lineup of speakers for this creative conference. These include names like Joshua Davis, Jared Tarbell, Hillman Curtis, and Ken Perlin. I was originally just going to attend but a last minute speaker cancellation means that I get a chance to speak. This is going to be a great conference so go and register while there are tickets left!
Flash User Group – Paris (April 4th)
This is still in the planning phase but I will be in Paris on Monday, April 4th to talk to the user group about Flash gaming. This will be my 3rd time talking to the user group there and they are some of the most advanced Flashers I have ever come across. So if you are close-by and are doing cool stuff with Flash please come on by. Check with the local user group for details and I will also tweet when I have more information.
FFK11 beyond tellerrand – Köln (April 5th – 8th)
Notice how I used the German spelling of Cologne? It just looks cooler to me. I have been trying to speak at Marc Thiele’s FFK conference for a few years but there was always some scheduling conflict. I’m really happy to be finally going this year as I have heard nothing but good things about it. Joining me from Adobe will be Mike Chambers and Deepa Subramaniam. I’m sure there will be lots of German beer consumed and lots of great Flash talk.
After I return from this trip there will be a small break before heading back out to places like Tampa for a user group meeting and the big 10th anniversary bash at FITC Toronto. I will talk more about these in a future post. Hope to see you out there!
